I think there will continue to be mechanisms to prevent this, eg:

1) control: unsubscribe from unwanted content notifications
2) aggregation (eg, AI reads all newsletters and provides personalized digest)
3) more pull interfaces (eg, personalized Interface surfaces content you'd like)
