It might sound more slick, and it’s certainly less offensive and more reg safe 

But “crypto” has stuck, precisely because it’s a culture. And the culture of “crypto” evokes digital grunge

May not work for you since you're a little bit worried about just the... word, maybe?

If you want to onboard and get people to use "crypto", toning the word down helps. Especially since the word "crypto" doesn't have a credible association/reputation (the bad actors) to a lot of average people nowadays (especially the media).
