I agree with this take, the approach they can take is to decentralize rewards at some point, so those who are not under US law can still distribute, e.g. maybe it's the case with $degen cc: @v @jacek

As long as this remains centralized, we will not grow as we want, that is the reality.

rewards is only a part of what might impact growth, but I understand you

What makes Warpcast different from Twitter? Supposedly, decentralization—but in reality, it doesn’t exist since they still know where you live, where you log in from, etc. We’re supposed to be disconnected from the oppressive and controlling system, but that’s just the narrative. The reality is that it’s just another Twitter with a CEO that happens to use the blockchain.

I do agree, and in reality they realised it's not much of decentralisation which makes you stand out, but ability to make onchain operations in social feed. (maybe in future when it becomes really popular someone will create a different client outside of US, Coinbase will follow similar legal framework). Having said that, X can introduce embedded wallet any day, and basically support the same. However, building mini-apps is easier with social graph on top of Farcaster, as it's verifiable.

I hope that happens brother, someone can unify all this learning and create something.

there is always some chance it simply ends up being another X (and Twitter initially was also about building with open API), but I believe the future of technology will impose requirements on semi decentralisation of data/social graph so my hope it's not about Dan or any other founder who make the decision, it's more about new norms which they have to follow
