There’s a lot of talk about reserve currency status now adays because of tariffs. 

One thing that doesn’t get mentioned enough is what are the alternatives? 

The renminbi isn’t better, it’s just the option you choose when you have no other option. 

This goes into my broader question about the doom and gloom in the US with respect to its other institutions.

What are the alternatives? 

In my mind, there are no real alternatives. 

In the case that US falls, all of the institutions would be American institutions but with ccp characteristics. 

So then, what’s stopping someone from creating a new institution and disrupting the old one with the internet? 

This new institution would have the internet as a distribution innovation and be on the right side of history because the internet will encompass more of our lives not less. 

This is why I think the most likely outcome is founders of new institutions working together with government, and thus we will see the rise of the Technological Republic.
