Simone de Beauvoir argued that everyone’s freedom is interconnected because true freedom cannot exist in isolation—my freedom depends on the freedom of others. e.g. standing on the shoulders of giants. If they didn’t use their freedom, I wouldn’t have been able to stand on their shoulders.
