Being better at listening to my intuition played a big role. I believe reality is weirder than we often give it credit for, and pushing the boundaries of perceptual rationality is the only way we can explore more of it. It’s a shame that institutions teach by doctrine rather than curiosity, so contra that.

What does it mean to push the boundaries of perceptual rationality? I had a similar world view change when it comes to emotions. I came to understand that there is a lot more information in emotions than I thought.

Agreed on the emotional information point. Perceptual rationality is to call what can be currently perceived, whether that’s by logic or observation, as rational. Anything beyond is regarded with suspicion. The status quo is then equated with doctrine, which means questioning it will lead to negative consequences.
