most consistent theme with people criticizing the contentcoin thesis is that they haven't downloaded the @zora app it's a beautiful consumer product, we need more experimentation, and you shouldn't knock it till you try it

Would be cool if there was an On/Off switch for coining casts on Base App. (A lot of objectors seem to be criticizing coining as making “everything” monetary. Whereas in fact it’d just be cool to switch it on as a power tool if so desired. Why not?! Up to the creator.)

yea I believe this... I use zora everyday... I scroll and double tap things I like and post things I create. I never really sell or look at prices. I don't expect to get rich on someone else's content. Its just fun. We don't have to overthink it. Just have fun on the Internet.

most arguments tried to counter contentcoins with irrelevant remarks, like why base is so closely aligned with zora and not other products, or by claiming that it's repackaged pumpdotfun — they weren't interested in zora, instead they were fuming about why it exists hate comes in many forms

@jessepollak been thinking how could @zora use their platform to coin products and sell them as coins. Making a bridge IRL. Store owners would need control on coin price, for fixed price products, and supply. The idea came imaging this: I have a new shirt to sell. I make a photo, coin it, and sell the real world product using Zora. Something to think about

That + this lol Hard agree though the Zora team has done an incredible job. Having a feed that’s 100% socially curated by following collecting behaviour (ie. “Jesse/Jacob bought x”) is interesting too, do go back and forth on that algo vs topics or following posting behaviour tho but I think it’s probably the most fitting for zora

Coining on Zora is seen to be not dissimilar the the rugs on sites like pump fun, which have come around and effectively made crypto look like a complete scam. There needs to be promotion done tobshow the clear differences between the two
