@dwr.eth @jessepollak do you think Coinbase would have been less likely to adopt the Farcaster network if the Merkle app was called Farcaster instead of Warpcast?

no, I think it's probably a reasonable simplification for many consumers and might actually lead to more growth which would be good for Coinbase wallet

yeah I've gone back and forth too and would have been in the warpcast camp a year ago

but I think it actually just obfuscates the reality - all *clients* for *all* of crypto because it's all open and composable 

at the same time we can and should embrace collaboration at the protocol layers bc we win together

better to just name it and then work through the discomfort

tbh i go back and forth, so ultimately defer to your take since you have more direct experience with this decision than me.

OG app name = "farcaster" means it's simpler for people to understand out the gate, but future clients may see the app as competitive and something that might pull users away.

OG app name = "warpcast" means it's a bit more confusing, but future clients see it as less competitive.
