try to argue against content coins from first principles.

if a video on tiktok has millions of views, it has value.

why should a single platform control that value?
why shouldn't that value be explicit?
why shouldn't the creator benefit from that value?

seems good to me.

The value of the content is in the information conveyed.

Without gating access to the information, the coin is economically disconnected from the fundamental value of the content and carries no value itself.

Making all content coin-able isn’t how to achieve this though, imo. Its making everything happen on a single chain and paying out on a small basket of MoE’s (say, USDC, CBBTC, ETH on base). 

Monetary economics suggests that, if lots of tradable assets -> information problems as to what “value” is. 

Instead, people will tend towards using a commonly accepted medium, as thats the best way to describe the value being created in a language everyone understands. 

What we need then, imo, is a better system for tracking value, not more coins.
