kind of agree it makes it easier but coinbase wallet nowadays allows to operate on multiple chains if it becomes base app maybe it should include only base?

To me it makes sense from all angles: 1. Returning CBW users - The app is changing so significantly (social, apps, robust messaging) that a name change will actually help them reconceptualize. And learn what "Base" is. 2. Net-new users - They are likely coming bc of non-wallet functionality, or else they'd already be using. So call it what it is :) 3. App builders - When I am explaining to people about the future trajectory of /bracket and Bracky and I'm like "soon we are going to be featured on Coinbase Wallet!" it really feels like a dud. Like... so what?But if I could say "soon we are going to be featured on the Base app" that sounds hype af.

Seems to imply an app limited to a specific eth layer 2. If coinbase wallet will still let me transact on other chains it will be confusing

When I'm onboarding friends, they assume Coinbase = Coinbase wallet. So they get 2x more confused. I think Base App or Base Wallet would be a great name since it is gonna be the universal interface for the onchain economy 😉

I love the idea of a shorter name and Base is also very cool! Probably “Wallet” shouldn’t be included anyway, it is not a wallet actually, it doesn’t contain only coins. I also think including “App” in an app name is not a good idea.

the distinction between coinbase & coinbase wallet has always been extremely confusing for people. I think calling it Base Wallet / app makes a ton of sense. Only confusion might be that people would think it *only* works on base

makes way more sense to have a “Base Wallet” or “Base App” if i’m onchain using Base it’s kinda the same thing we ran into with warpcast vs farcaster. if you have to explain the name, it’s already friction. “Base App” is just clear

Coinbase Wallet is confusing to me at the jump as someone with a Coinbase account. Base Wallet makes more sense IMO. Feels more like a hot wallet.
