After digging into a bit, seems like there are two decent options for gifting crypto in small amounts to children that aren't yours:
1. ETFs in custodial / UTMA accounts (no ETH yet!)
2. Onchain custody route (multisig w/ parents)

Details and reasoning below, what am I missing?

This needs to abstract away the block chain to be actually usable.

Same as some DeFi options that replicate college funds for example

Any implementation that could potentially gain mainstream adoption would need to be able to emulate the functionality of a real-world trust that allows the trust creators a way to create stipulations/restrictions on access and withdrawal in a user-friendly way. Also legal + tax considerations for viability.
