I think Matt’s comments are more around sentiment than definitions or tech. Web3 basically became this generations dotcom. Both innovative tech but overshadowed by BS and greed.

I'm old enough to remember when the 'crypto' community shared events/stages alongside Mastodon, Scuttlebutt, Beaker browser devs. It was all just the 'Dweb' and we all got along
