Originally, I was against this, but after further reflection, I’m for it after a quick tally of the pros and cons. Despite the heavier cons, I think the pros make it worth a try. This idea works if a Farcaster has a following on other platforms and they could monetize their following via FT. Perhaps, this is to support Varun’s recent foray into cross-posting. It certainly could be a way to advertise Farcaster to those active on other platforms; show those non-members what owning your own data could mean. I don’t see a vested incentive for a non-member hodling a FT for the long-term though. An uninvested non-member might be more prone to pump/dump. Already established social media Influencers who are non-members wouldn’t leave the followings they’ve built unless their followers started leaving. Finally, a non-member FT purchaser may be more difficult to engage with and could limit the ability for someone to address their non-Farcaster fans.
