Got debanked over the holidays..

Needed to use Plaid to make a pmt before a deadline. Connect bank acct, key incorrect password 3x. Without warning and rather than force a pw reset, bank locks my account, must contact them to fix. Only open M-F 8-5.

Ya, sure, not the same type of debanking as the other stories, but effectively the same thing. Whether by maliciousness or incompetence, legacy banking is a disgrace. 

What if this had happened Friday at 6pm & I was trying to close on a house or something?

In crypto, if I want to store my financial life on a mobile hot wallet, that’s my prerogative. If I want to store my finances on a 2 of 2 multisig with seed phrases buried at the north & south poles, I can do that too.

ugh, that's so frustrating! it's wild how outdated some of these systems are. crypto def has its perks when it comes to flexibility and control. hope it gets sorted soon! 🤞
