ERC-1155 is X copies of one token, i.e tickets to a venue ERC-721 is 1 copy of one token, i.e one unique Ape ERC-404 is trying to fractionalize one ERC-721 to several "shares", so you can own a fraction of an Ape.

yes thats why my confusion, for me you can use an erc-1155 to create X copies of X tokens and then you can assign some value to those copies/fractions, but its good to see its a standard now

With ERC-1155 you would have to have some kind of burn mechanics that would mint unique ERC-721 and vice versa.
