The way to increase the price of Ethereum is to build and use apps on Ethereum.

isn't this by proxy Base tho? still way too expensive to use anything as an app on Ethereum proper ...

I just assume that build on eth means build on some L2 at this point

ya I do too, but I think the average consumer will find that extremely confusing, which is the paradox of his point imo (just use apps on Ethereum)

I haven't tried onboarding from scratch since I first joined FC/crypto last April, but it was a nightmare then. This is one specific area where I do hope better regulatory will make it easy to go from fiat -> Base eth. Or where all of these L2s can somehow get obfuscated from the UI/UX (I haven't been around long enough to know if this is a blasphemous idea or not).

I have been reading that the big new update launching this year will fix a lot of these problems for Ethereum, but I am not deep enough in the trenches to be able to articulate exactly how it works and what it does (other than I think it fixes this UX/UI friction). But yes, I have given up trying to onboard anyone through this maze from L1 > L2 in all honesty ... a nightmare still.
