If we were to work on channels as a developer lego, what should we improve?

Decentralizing existing primitive doesn’t drive network growth. 

So would have to offer something new / compelling.

since apparently the "build another client, not a priority rn, doesn't drive long term growth, etc" is the default response here

(despite the general sense that channels are a rushed, underexplored feature (potential new primitive) where the lack of prioritization and thoughtfulness has led to increased friction and a worse NUX)

is anyone building a channel-focused client? 

i'm incredibly excited about the promise of channels and promise to dedicate a portion of my time, energy, and resources to exploring this with you and supporting you

i am a force of nature, as some of you may know, especially when i'm motivated by both the mission and someone telling me i'm wrong

Sometimes I wonder on here if Channel Discoverability would be improved if / channel tags (ie. / ) were thought of more as #hashtags were on early days Twitter.

The way the search is with / is kind of awkward for searching channels; and without it, it shows a mix of Users and Channels.

I think if the / channel tags were gamified a bit more in the way #hashtags were on early twitter, it would help.

I am curious to see what /wildcardclub does when they release native apps cuz they seem very good at design.

🎩 first, but I like being part of this experiment that is the Farcaster network. 

well you know how at the beginning of Twitter they kind of popped out a bit visually, so everyone just started using them and those in a way were “channels” before they became spammy.

then the default behavior was more searching #hashtags, clicking #hashtags, discovering things via #hashtags.

idk but the / channel tags are just a little bit more clunky to search with and the search is mixed in with users, generally.

more of a design thing than a tech thing

thought I would share this cuz found it interesting to look at side by side, channel search/discovery Warpcast vs Wildcard.

Warpcast is a hybrid between Instagram (top) and X (bottom) while Wildcard is a bit more how I remember Twitter being.

In both cases, I still feel like channel search and discovery is some work for the user
