price is meaningless for average user since you won't be able to do the mental math

it’s hard cuz it’s not standardized in terms of units like the stock market

but when I Google a stock, the price is the first thing I see, market cap is a data point.

Analysts on TV discuss price targets mostly around dollar values, less market caps.

I think it makes sense in some ways, minus the fact that $0.00001 is not a good way to display price 🙃

it kind of is, companies will go out of their way to split stocks just to have more palatable prices

less than $1 per share is immediately seen as a penny stock.  

META $500 per share, AAPL $200 per share, NVDA $100 per shares, etc.

No major respectable company that I can think of would want a share price below $1, nor necessarily over $1,000, which is why companies split

the stock market is not standardized units, either :)
