my 2 DEGEN on this issue (and something that may be considered blasphemy) I think it may be time to retire the pure in-feed tipping aspect of DEGEN it worked as a fantastic bootstrapping mechanism when most people thought DEGEN was worthless once it had value, it was corrupted because farmers realized they could exploit the system and farmers are smart, there is no way to beat them as long as the system is "anyone who stakes can give away money via a comment" it will be taken advantage of so why not up the bar? hold contests related to DEGEN initiatives, allow anyone to submit to those contests, then let the DEGEN community tip only people who pass a certain bar of achievement within the contests we still get to tip DEGEN, it's just a smaller pool of potential recipients who have to prove themselves as worthy by accomplishing tasks before they're eligible to receive the tips

Will not scale, everyone should be rewarded not a particular amount of people, if your idea works out people will then need to put in work to get tipped, now you can just be yourself and it comes along.

the current system isn't scaling either, it's being ravaged by scammers it's nice to think "you can just be yourself and be rewarded" but the flip side is that absolutely worthless farmers can "be themselves" and get paid too the distribution mechanism was fine when farcaster was a high trust society now it's not, so we need a different system

So let's make the distribution only go to high trust wallets... All projects need to start taking advantage of the Legos that have already been built to solve these same problems and iteratively improve them when they fall down for the specific project's use... Gitcoin passport might be a good starting point

the only thing I don't love about that is someone who doesn't have a long history in crypto but who's a genuine person that wants to earn DEGEN should still have a path to create content that is reward eligible which is why I think certain simple tasks like "wear a giant purple top hat" to qualify make sense it's like an initiation ritual for a club anyone can join, but you have to prove you can pass some tests first
