Scheming on my bikepacking setup in preparation for an upcoming trip. Got a batch of lighter components on order and working on a couple projects to get weight lower and more central on the rig, all while tinkering with the route. Learned a ton on my first go, pumped to apply that experience and spend more time enjoying, less stressing.

Only water I carried on this trip was in the Nalgene in the bar bag and regular bottles in cages. Working on a frame bag with 2L reservoir to get more water low in the main triangle. Plastic cans are for food, also heavy. I’m curious why you’d move the sleeping pad from up front. It was one of the lighter items.

more a general comment about centralizing weight. sounds like you've got the right idea though
