wouldn't surprise us if cupertino never tries this: - massive manufacturing investment necessary to take the bet - watch+airpods solves for small screen engagement (e.g. the @jake method) - improving the dominant form factor (thin and small + thic and big) more likely to drive loyalty and upgrades

It’s hard to say what they will and won’t do. As someone with a watch, AirPods, and a phone, I still would rather this than the smallest iPhone that exists now.
