looked into this a while ago (shopify is my primary client load), easy to get integrated and taking orders, shitty to get inventory sync and out of stock into, awful to get data properly transferred for accounting purposes (and fulfillment if necessary)

you can and it’s totally fine for small (solo) shops but eventually an accountant is gonna ask for a itemized P&L and be like “why does this one order not have a transaction ID and cc confirmation attached?”

Can't you just be an alternative front end to the underlying Shopify store?
