2030s. Infrastructure for monetizing is built out, but VR athletes will have the added benefit of having parasocial relationships built through YouTube, TikTok, Twitch and IG that modern athletes still keep at a bit of an arms length. Think MrBeast fandom but with athletic margins… huge.
