Warpcast is stopping warp rewards for hub runners. - There are plenty of hubs, well above target (382 vs target of 100) - Rewards are driving people to run more hubs on slow hardware - This is making the network slower for everyone We'll turn off rewards for a month to see where the steady state lands, and revisit.

wait how are slow hubs slowing down the network?

Hubble degrades on slower hardware due to so many messages, we’ve had to bump to minimum 6 vCPU otherwise the OS kernel hangs after a while

Hubs peer together so if you’re talking with a non-responsive or slow hub, you won’t get messages as quickly as a fast hub, degrading the overall network. Think of it like a slow WiFi router vs a fast one

i got confused because the OP said *everyone* so i thought it would be literally everyone for everything. so if i understand everything correctly, slow hubs propagate messages more slowly which causes delays for users that rely on said hubs
