Warpcast is stopping warp rewards for hub runners. - There are plenty of hubs, well above target (382 vs target of 100) - Rewards are driving people to run more hubs on slow hardware - This is making the network slower for everyone We'll turn off rewards for a month to see where the steady state lands, and revisit.

Correction, we have over 600 running hubs. @sanjay pointed out that there was a potential error in the dashboard I was looking at.

Was this ever in the “we anticipate” or “design for” or “incentives” conversations? Asking purely because this feels like something that could have gone either way. Personal curiosity I guess.

I no longer have to feel guilty with not running a hub. 😌

oh well i guess im not that early to running a hub, still interested on doing so for the fun technical aspects of setting it up and what not, might do whenever I have a server that requires it and doesn't do with neynar

oh woah, making hubs on slow hardware making the overall network slower, sounds a bit unintuitive from a decentralized POV, i guess if the metal is too slow, not any quantity of nodes can fix this
