I love everything I do—each single portrait I take is a piece of a meaningful puzzle in my search to understand life, the world, and my own place and purpose in it. There’s something profoundly moving about celebrating so-called “ordinary” hardworking people. It feels like a deeply purposeful way to use my skills and time.

Perhaps it’s because I come from a lineage of women who have never known an easy life, or maybe it’s because I find the raw and unvarnished truth to be the most beautiful. I don’t have a definitive answer. But what I do know is that the way I feel about this body of work is unshakable and powerful. I am endlessly grateful to have been the instrument through which it took shape in the form of photographs ❤️
