My mental model... Old way - YouTube owns audience - YouTube monetizes - YouTube censorship - Play in YouTube clients - YouTube client distribution New way - Creator owns audience - Creator monetizes however (sell % ownership) - Censorship resistent - Play in any video client - Ethereum + client distribution

This doesn't answer the question: "how do I, a creator, make more money this way?". Most creators do this job to make money and those platforms allow them to get reach that's almost impossible in other ways. It's all about the $$ in the end.
