Any apps that get any sort of mainstream traction won't have wallet connect features, but will look very familiar to web2 users.

I agree with @futureartist. If you remember, TopShot, which arguably is what drove the last mass onboarding into NFTs, did not require users to connect a wallet. So, yes, like Reddit.
