This is literally NOT over-promising. If someone thinks I’m just pumping and wasting time and money, you’re not paying attention. Someone must have bought the top just before a black swan event. 🤷 Either way, I’ll keep building.

So for the sake of your grassroots, small dollar supporters, what is your product roadmap? Show your skin in the game. Give people a reason to have confidence in your vision. A failure to plan is planning to fail. Doesn’t matter if it’s a year, five years, twenty years. Just commit to something substantive. Everyone who sends you a dime is your stakeholder and employer.

My skin in the game is visible onchain. I’ve locked 500,000,000 tokens for a year. https://x.com/derekbrown/status/1862934095946252733 I buy $NATIVE regularly. I provide demos and updates regularly. There is a FAQ and general roadmap on the website. I generally do not give deadlines.

All I asked for is when are we expecting to get to see a working product. What is so wrong with that? Seriously all of this could’ve been avoided by giving a pessimistic case scenario target. Everyone here would’ve been excited to have something to look forward to. That’s it. It wasn’t a big principled civil war. I just wanted a ballpark.

Nothing is wrong with asking in the same sense that nothing is wrong with him not providing what you want. His project is his project, your capital is your capital, you are each free to make your own decisions. He didn’t say he would provide a roadmap with a timeline so pretending like he needs to provide one is silly. Now if he needs to provide one to satisfy you, then you can withdraw your capital.

Yes totally fair. Some builders are not ready to start their own business, and if they want to stay in the hobbyist realm, they can set up a Patreon. But blind faith without substance will poison the well faster than extending a deadline. Supporters are understanding, and defensiveness shows a lack humility

that is one perspective a cool thing about building in web3 is it makes Patreon largely unnecessary. hobbyist or not, a builder can launch a project with a token, provide any level of detail about their vision as they want and people can choose to invest, or not
