How do you see the pledge being executed: would the 1% token supply be streamed over time and held in vesting for example?

Yes: tokens sent to PG will vest for 4 years by default, but anyone can set up their own custom vest. Also, I think it's fine for some projects to use other mechanisms. For example, if PG ever got >1% of $OP supply via RPGF, that should count the same.
