announcement time: super is joining warpcast

we are joining forces with @dwr.eth and @v to build farcaster into the most important social network on the planet, together

farcaster has never been stronger and i’m grateful for everyone who helped us get here

below is the story and what is happening next

Was initially not stoked about this announcement because felt a bit anti-competitive to buyout Super, but I've changed my mind:

While Super was the closest to being competitive with Warpcast, it still wasn't particularly close, client competition is probably an order of magnitude less important than growing the network at this stage.

Its clear this move will provide more firepower for @dwr.eth and friends to bring in more users for US (the builders, yappers, and lurkers)

Eventually there will be enough users to support a competitive client landscape.

shared almost identical thoughts -- when I heard the news about coinbase x warpcast strategic partnership I thought for sure they would be eye'ing super as well

Agreed, DAU was thin to begin with, spreading it out amongst multiple clients a net loss for a cohesive vision of the protocol
