Hot take but there’s always been a huge disconnect between the classes. 90 years later we celebrate Amelia Earhart’s attempt to circumnavigate the globe during the Great Depression. I suspect it rubbed a lot of people the wrong way then just like Blue Origin’s flight did yesterday.

Yeah. I think some of the pushback was because they made some pretty grandiose statements for what their flight was, and it's also Bezos putting a lot of money into a tourist machine that people are criticizing. But I think people too quickly dismiss it entirely when there is actual progress there. Blue using the practice from New Shepard to learn how to do reusable rockets and landing is important, so it's not just tourism (also they do science missions sometimes). Also cool to see more variants of spacesuit design.
