An interesting Farcaster idea:  what if apps paid for storage, not users? 

- Apps buy a chunk of bytes.  
- Free to allocate to casts, reactions, follows in any way. 
- Free to assign to users in any way (fixed rate, free) 
- Lower cost by avoiding "unused storage"

I love the idea of apps paying.  But what would really be great is if we had a clear idea of what we are paying for and what it means.  Does paying for our own data storage mean that FC won’t sell our data to train LLMs?  That would be a huge selling point.

you're paying for storage on farcaster for the same reason you're paying for every transaction on ethereum. 

if there wasn't a price to use the network, it would get flooded and no one could use it.
