Restaurants should save 1 reservation every night for an auction with a clearing price. Purely a reservation spot—you pay the normal bill. If doesn’t clear, give to waitlist. Split the upside with ownership and tips for staff.

How about a reservation system that’s a multiplier on the menu prices? Everyone has to pay 1x but priority given to those who want to pay 2, 3 or 5x
