We needed DOGE to bring the deficit down and balance the budget. $5k checks to every citizen will necessitate further cuts to balance the budget.

Hard disagree. While I don’t like how plenty of my tax dollars are spent… I personally feel like I get a great return on that money overall (and it’s a fuck-ton!). Human coordination is expensive. But worth it.

I half agree. Yes, we get a good return on our money, but with an accountable and efficient system, we should be able to get great returns on our investments at a lower cost. Human coordination has never been easier than it is today.

I see this first hand being involved in large co-operatives that are extremely efficient and well audited. It’s fucking expensive to coordinate everything at scale.

It's expensive but worth the investment to modernize all our systems so they work together as efficiently as possible. It's nearly impossible with so many antiquated legacy systems still in place. I feel citizens' tax dollars should be respected and never abused.
