here's an idea:

1. coin a piece of content
2. show an ad next to the content
3. use the revenue from the ad to buy and burn the coin

that's a smart coin. self sustaining from revenue generated by attention.

Interesting approach. When first got into web3 I saw it as a way that we could start to better monetise content from creators so they could avoid going down the route of ads.

We should be looking at ways in which we can have a better form of paywall against the content consumption so that ads are no longer required.

Coil was the closest thing I saw come to this (https://coil.com/) but it was running in the 2018 and it still hasn’t “arrived”, although we do now have https://webmonetization.org/

In your example I’d love to see the ad as an option IF you’re not already subscribed to streaming some form of token to the creator while you’re consuming the content.
