I was shamed for having a 20% split on my fan token despite being at the top of the Warpcast Rewards list since its inception so I decided fuck it I’ll FAFO and switch it to 90% not. a. single. person.* has bought * other than myself ofc

I honestly never saw a benefit to launching a fan token. I did so for the politics channel but will never do one for myself.

Yeah, I personally regret doing mine. Would be better if people could opt out or change their reward share to 0 if they wanted, but I’ve just been ignored every time I’ve brought it up to them 🙄 I wish them all the best but I don’t think what they’re building is for me, and I really don’t like how rich people can come here and just buy influence now :/

What benefit did/do you receive from launching a fan token? I never understood it. Isn't moxie similar to Degen in that others benefit from your influence and not you directly? I give out 10k degen a day and haven't received much back.

Fan tokens will give you a percentage of rewards that cut into what you would have gotten otherwise (as Jarrett rightly points out) The typical moxie split is 50% to you, 20% to your fans, 20% to the channel you casted in and 10% to yourself. It’s like a passive tipping scenario where any interaction you get earns you a function of moxie: this is based on a users “far score” at a rate of 1x per like, 3x per reply, and 6x per recast/quote. I find degen and moxie to be a bit complimentary in this way due to their inverse passive/active nature.
