OK @yar0x - I'd like to highlight that the behaviour being displayed by these casters is a violation of the Terms of Use. Would respectfully request that @angelus.eth and @arrowx31 be banned from the channel. Threats of violence have no place in political discussions. https://warpcast.com/angelus.eth/0x437c8265

Who does have admin rights? Saw your Pinned Cast and assumed it was you.

Thanks, @yar0x. Hi @ehcarpenter - We've never banned anyone from the /politics channel as of yet and preferred to let people to curate their feed by blocking users. I raised this request with the team that helps advise the channel. I'll follow-up.

That would be an acceptable answer if not for the blatant violation of the Terms of Use, and the literal death threats from one of the Casters involved. I appreciate you raising the request and look forward to the answer.

In full transparency, here's some of my considerations and thoughts. 1. The Terms of Use -- this is for warpcast at large so wouldn't the request be for @dwr.eth to ban the users? I'm not sure how banning someone from the channel restricts their views or ability to post. arrowx31 is not a current member of the channel. Although, membership doesn't have any impact as everyone can cast and reply. 2. Generally, I have been afraid of having too much influence on the channel as I have been viewing it as a public space. There should probably be better defined exceptions to this. Although, I'm a firm believer that all political views should be seen in the open - even if I don't believe with them. 3. Maybe the channel should change and we move away from it being a public space.

I, too, believe that political ideas should be seen in the open - but I do not believe that the statement "Dig a hole, I'll bring them both" with a knife emoji, in the context of a member of the Far Right posting a picture of a gay Muslim who are excited to have voted to be a 'political idea.' How, I ask, would you feel if the people in the picture was a son, brother, or cousin of yours? They are the sons, brothers, or cousins of SOMEONE.

I agree. That statement went too far, but it was a reply to a post by someone who is not a member of the channel. I can ban them for threatening violence; our team doesn't have a problem with that, but I don't believe that would prevent them from being able to reply or solve anything in this instance.

Thank you, and apologies for the delayed response - had to get a bit of sleep in. I think it's important to do what can be done at the channel level to address the direct threat of violence, and would ask that you join me in raising the matter to @dwr.eth / @v / or whomever else has the power to do more at the platform level. Believe it's important to send the message that especially in areas like political discourse there is room for a lot of opinions and emotions, but that there is also a line, and consequences for crossing it.
