… this is a screenshot from the web, but my dad drove a red with a white hardtop Mercury Cougar from 1971 until 1983, so it is the first car I remember. (My mother’s Pacer wagon was the other one.)

Yeah, Mercury was the “sister” brand for Ford, and slightly upscale, so the Mercury Cougar in 1970 was their model, with several different design elements, of the 1970 Ford Mustang.

Guess which one is a bit cheaper to collect these days?

Ha ha ha… the Mustang and Corvette are two of the most coveted muscle cars to collect, so much, much cheaper to get a Cougar.
