A super rare Hawaiian monk seal sighting on the Big Island… of the main Hawaiian islands, the Big Island has the smallest resident population, with 8-10 resident seals. This little one was actually born there.

She’s about three years old in this picture and nobody sleeps as soundly as a Hawaiian monk seal on the beach.

I don’t always get to see seals I saw as a pup again, especially our neighbor island pups, but I actually photographed her as a baby in 2018 as well.
