This will be true until suddenly it's no longer the case.

I don’t see the reason for it…unless what you are watching is specifically made for spatial experience, what could be the benefit or draw for people to view normal outlets with this hardware when you can view without?

There will be numerous elements that combine to make it more appealing than watching a TV, particularly when you're not watching with other people next to you. Although until you can watch for a few hours without any hint of strain that's not gonna happen.
