I always shower at night. Sometimes in the morning too. But I generally exercise later in the day. To optimize for night showers, turn on cold water for the last minute of your shower. It will help you sleep better at night.

What is something you actively do or believe in despite the scientific proof otherwise? For me, it’s tobacco. The cost of it is the only thing that sucks.

I don’t know how a President could survive without exercising. Actually makes me wonder how many Presidents meditated.

The good thing is you can usually move your subscriber list pretty easy to whichever platform, so if you start on something it doesn’t have to be permanent. I started mine on substack just to get going and not inflict too much brain damage on myself.

Mental health is a bad problem too. Affordability of it. Insurance coverage issues. I think there is a shortage of therapists too. Glad you are highlighting all of this.

Our diet is a major issue with this. We have so much crap on our grocery shelves, which is way more affordable than the healthy food. I’m not sure how serious education can be while lawmakers are lobbied and donated to by the corporations that put that food there.

I think I would’ve bought the actual mattress had I not bought a Helix Sleep mattress just a couple years ago. Sounds pretty incredible!

Does anyone else use the Eight Sleep Pod cover? I love this thing! Hitting 7-8 hours of sleep pretty much every night now.

No matter what happens in the next decade, I’ll still be listening to Rubberband Man by The Spinners. You can’t unhear great music.

The Banshees of Inisherin is damn good. McDonagh creates some remarkable screenplays.

I had a Phillips version of the Sony Walkman. Later the Phillips version of a Discman. I got a 3rd generation iPod in college. Damn that was 20 years ago.

I used to use Roam Research and I had a good system for storing quotes. Also used it to write a daily paragraph of what I accomplished for the day. I got out of the practice of using it, but it’s the best tool I’ve found if you’re storing a lot and need to search through it. I want to get back to it myself.

It depends on what it is. Journaling is for myself, ends up in a notebook and stays there mostly. I have a separate notebook for poetry and that is sometimes minted as an NFT or submitted to a journal to potentially get published. The rest is usually for my newsletter and that I do almost entirely in Evernote.

If I start writing about it in that moment, I pull out the pen and notebook. If I don’t, then a quick jot in Evernote.
