Also, is it just me, or aren't as many DnB tunes nowadays centred around a lead sample that sets the mood and narrative?

lol dnb’s still picking up the pieces of neurofunk’s smoking wreckage. Maybe that’ll be an avenue for it to reconnect with its roots.

Footwork kinda carried the torch, but in a different way again.

I think we’re just in an era where it’s much more difficult to execute that style of sampling without it coming off cheesy
