I usually try to avoid trailers — they often spoil best moments, and promo always love to show those. But this one... I couldn’t skip. It’s scary to say, but I waited 15 years for new Tron. Kosinski’s film made huge impression on me — I still think it’s real audiovisual masterpiece. Looks like Disney feel the same — in trailer they even mention soundtrack authors: Nine Inch Nails (NIN). This cult American project, started by Trent Reznor in 1988, changed industrial rock, mixing electronic, guitars, and noise. In 1996 Reznor made one of first dark ambient game soundtracks — for Quake.

Later, in 2010s, Atticus Ross joined the project, and together they wrote Oscar-winning score for The Social Network. So yeah, NIN is more than solid replacement for Daft Punk, who made legendary music for Tron: Legacy. The new DP is Jeff Cronenweth, who worked with Reznor and Ross on Social Network, Dragon Tattoo, and Gone Girl. He also did Fight Club with Fincher. So the team is not just strong — they already worked together a lot. You can already feel it in trailer (spoiler: it looks and sounds great). Now we only hope Joachim Rønning (Pirates 5, Maleficent 2) will not ruin it. We’ll see this October. https://youtu.be/9KVG_X_7Naw
