I'm enjoying it so far, only about a week in! I think the transcription capabilities will only improve, the mic is pretty sensitive. I'm personally not using it for meetings and stuff, but mostly just for personal journaling.

So far do you feel that a dedicated hardware device is better than an app could be for that use case?

for me, yes. 100% because it allows like 'set it and forget it' instead of like "oh let me set this app up oh it crashed let me reopen it, oh apple closed it so I lost all my shit, oh I accidentally closed it so I wasn't recording when I thought I was." Little light is on, we're capturing. Light is off, we aren't. And I can leave it capture all day if I want. So I just talk out loud to capture my thoughts.

I'll make a honorable mention for Things watch app. Things watch app has an add todo complication that works with voice which means I can capture a todo instantly, easily. Which to me is a similar idea that reduces the friction for doing the thing you want to do so much that it makes it possible to do consistently, easily.
