while i have not built a successful startup before, i reckon a key factor in finding success with your startup is to find a way to stay genuinely excited about it, most of the time, over a long period of time this is why building a purpose-driven startup tends to be easier than, for example, building something more mercenary for the "purpose" of making money, which often does not work novelty is exciting and so it is hard to stay excited about something consistently for a long period of time because the novelty wears off but i don't think you can operate from a place of obligation and find great success you've got to want to do the work, not have to do the work and if you want to do the work, it won't feel like work just one more thing to crush gm
