Jake is the creator of /basecolors, the NFT collection for every color on the internet. He also writes a blog called Blog of Jake and hosts a podcast called Pod of Jake with guests like @vitalik.eth, Mark Cuban, and @barmstrong. Jake previously served as chief of staff and fund manager for @balajis.eth and began his career in technology investment banking.

One thing I don’t understand is NFTs that don’t in any material way utilize the non-fungibility. Why make it an NFT? One of my general design principles is that, if it is not different for a reason, it should be the same. That applies here. If there is not a good reason for non-fungibility, it should be fungible.

Crypto-natives get this, but normal people don't understand it can be simultaneously true that:

(a.) most NFT projects are garbage and even most of those that aren't obviously so will still go to zero
(b.) NFTs have huge potential and their aggregate value will grow by orders of magnitude over the next decade plus
