i have said for a couple years that i think there could be a reasonable pivot from, or addition to, the mission where the goal is not how big can we grow but how much can we do with who we already have -- focusing more on alignment, coordination, organization, and IRL building of something like an internet spawned town

I've held the belief steadily for the last 1.5 years or so that, while it is not the team's current objective, Farcaster happens to have the ingredients you'd want to see in a proto- network state, or in the nearer term, network union. Related, I expect the first network state may more likely be emergent than planned.

Hey fren, I hadn’t seen your earlier posts but thanks for bringing this to the forefront! When people can start crowdfunding accommodations for larger or longer-term pop-up events on Farcaster, that’ll be a huge prerequisite reached.

yea doesn't need to be big at all. plenty of people to do it now.

How close to the online first, then physical space do you think we are if there were a thing?

I think you‘re absolutely onto something.

I personally believe not running frequent irl meetups anymore is a big loss for crypto - as it created Communities despite not having any products to show for back in 2017/18 etc.

Now, farcaster would be a Perfect product to combine onchain + irl communities (also small ones, bot every community needs to be 10k+) which would also make it stick out from all the other social medias that have become impersonal scrolling machines vs the humble beginnings of connecting real people, growing their interactivity & network.
