I am ready to quit my phone. My motivation is to improve my effectiveness in, and enjoyment of, life. I am confident it will be net beneficial to remove my phone as the crutch to which I default my attention in lieu of anything else occupying it in a given moment. PHONE RULES:

I should note that my Apple Watch is absolutely critical to this plan. It allows me to check for notifications like texts and emails which can prompt me to get back to my laptop if and when I need to. I also have no interest in foregoing my ability to make phone calls or listen to music/podcasts on walks, runs, etc. My Apple Watch allows me to do all of that and more. It will however run out of battery if those activities extend beyond ~90 minutes. Hence 3b and 3c above.

same, this was the original reason I bought the original apple watch back in 2015, only took 10 years to get to this point :)

kinda wish we still had our series zero. it did teach us some important lessons about notifs psyching for some progress reports on your plan and put something similar into practice when we’ve got one again. not sure we’ll keep the phone in the bathroom though
