Unfortunately in crypto bad actors can abscond with asymmetrical large amounts (bad actors can steal a lot, fast). Reputation accrues pretty quickly and we tend to assume the best in people. What's stopping proxy from starting a new undoxed farcaster account and running it back in a different, but similar way tomorrow? I see the value in pseudonymity, but we need more robust tools and mechanisms to make it work while also protecting our communities from scammers. We don't have those yet. We should be more cautious.

i like that you're acknowledging time of accrued reputation as a factor regardless of psuedonymous name or legal name only difference is that legal only has 1 start time (unless you change your legal name) where pseudonymous you can "start over" we agree a pseudonym with a few weeks old reputation should be not be considered very trustworthy, but we disagree a bit on who should determine that or who should be responsible for doing so i don't think the prevalence of tools for making such a determination should be a global prerequisite for the acceptance of pseudonyms -- people are capable of evaluation these things for themselves, just like speculating on some garbage memecoin trying to get a 100x in a day and losing all one's money is primarily the speculator's fault (which also seems like a controversial opinion these days) by all means, be skeptical of an early pseudonym with no accrued reputation, but people are capable of deciding who to trust for themselves, pseudonymous or otherwise
